I had my little get together last night with the girls I have grown up with since 3rd grade. Rose, Toot, Bri, and Gen stopped by to eat and talk story and exchange gifts. I've been off and on sick so I managed well. Half an hour into them visiting the power went out as we were putting food on our plates. It freaked us all out cause there was crazy lightning and thunder right before the power went out. My Dad later told me that lightning hit the island's main transformer so that was why there was an all island power outage. Sadly, the power did not go back on till early this morning. Strange how dark and scary the outside world can look when all of the lights on the island just goes out.
I will be heading to the beach today :D I'll edit this a little later :P

Delays and vanilla latte.
I have not slept yet. The past 18+ hours has been very long, stressful, and sleepy. I shall recap cause I can't sleep right now. The caffeine is kicking in.
-Woke up at about 1pm. Packed up my belongings from Haiasi's parents house in Washington.
-Drove down to a little family diner called Stuffy's to eat breakfast with Haiasi and his older brother. Got a huge country fried steak platter and shared it with my lover.
-Drove down back to Portland and got stuck in the snow right in front of my apartment. Dug Haiasi's brother's car out of the snow for a good 45 minutes while people just stared at us.
-Said my goodbyes to Haiasi and then took a long warm bath, cleaned up the house, packed everything into 1 suitcase (iunno how it all fit), then played Left 4 Dead for about 3 hours. During this time, I had my momma and grandma calling me every half hour saying that my flight might be canceled and delayed till Dec. 26th morning. I wanted to cry.
-Ate a piece of toast and called Radio Cab cause I didn't trust the MAX and the buses.
-Arrived at the airport, sat in line for an hour, talk story with some other people in line, grabbed a vanilla latte, and set up my post in the lonely D10 gate. I have barricaded myself in by the nearest electrical outlet for my handicap G4 and am waiting for the caffeine to wear down so I can fall asleep till the loudspeaker guy shouts my flight.
It is now 7:01am. 4 more hours till I supposedly depart for Kahalui. I think I will be arriving home in the early evening. If for some odd reason my flight is cancelled or delayed till tomorrow morning, I will cry. I do NOT want to spend Christmas in a freakin' airport. Pray for the flights so everyone can go home to their families!
P.S. My cab driver looked and sounded like Francis from Left 4 Dead. Yeah yeah yeah, I'm addicted. I kept playing out hideout spots for myself if there was a zombie apocalypse right now in the PDX airport :P

New stuffs

I am drugged up on sleepy meds so this might sound a bit wonky.
I finished putting my flat book together of my woodblock and screen

These are the last two projects for my printmaking class this semester. They are both silk screened assignments, one with in-direct stencils, the other with direct photo stencils. I was supposed to have at least one in-direct layer on the lungs print, but I got too overwhelmed and said fuck it. Enjoy!
School is not cancelled tomorrow either for the 11am finals, which kinda sucks, but kinda good cause I made my mini gorgonzola, cherry tomato, pizzettes for my fellow classmates. If they decide to cancel all finals tomorrow, I will get to sleep in which will be nice since I think I am getting a horrendous cold that makes me feel like throwing up at times. Could be from stress though.

Oh the weather outside is frightful..

Not really though, but it puts me in a christmas mood :)
I woke up and looked briefly out my window and got sad cause I thought it didn't snow. Oh I was soo wrong though :P It was like a kid waking up on christmas day for me :P I woke Haiasi up and jumped up and down on the bed. It looks so pretty! Haven't seen snow in Portland since Kate still lived with me. It didn't snow as bad as 2 years ago, but it makes me all fuzzy inside :)
I am almost done with all of my final projects. I gave up on my plaster replica of catal hoyuk so instead I am making a paper version of it. It looks pretty good so far :D
Enjoy the snow kiddies cause it prolly won't last tille tomorrow :(

Mr. GoodMorning
Haiasi and I invested some money into a couple giftcards to give to the homeless guy by my house. I named him Mr. GoodMorning. He is probably the nicest homeless man I've ever met. He always says hi to me and Haiasi when we walk to school. I have never once have I ever seen him sad, mad, or whatever and he always greets us with the warmest hello's. I've been trying to make him waffles for the past 3 months, but everytime I would make them for him and look for him, he would be gone from his little post he stays at near my house. I gave up on giving him waffles, so I bought him som Fred Meyer and Starbucks giftcards for Christmas. I hope he enjoys them :)
On a much needed update, I have finished my composition lightbox for school. I had made a wooden rectangular lightbox for my final in my composition class. I built it entirely myself with the help of the wood tools at school, thread and some hot glue gun power. It came out quite great actually. I have a little peephole at the bottom of the box that you look into (this box would be mounted to the wall like a shelf) and it has a little miniature scenary of hot air balloons flying into watercolored skies. It's very cute! If you ever come to my house you can experience it for yourself :) I did quite well, Modou liked it as well as most of my class. I feel very proud and accomplished for getting it done on time. I still have 2 print projects to do, a plaster sculpture of catalhoyuk, an exam, and paper. I shall be done with this semester next week Thursday. Yay!!
I can't wait to get home. I have been homesick for awhile and I miss my friends. I can't wait :D

It's my party and I cry if I want to...
I had my belated birthday celebration last night at my apartment. I slaved away for a good 4.75 hours making 3 dishes :P I made mini pizzas topped with pizza sauce, Gorgonzola cheese crumbs, a half of a cherry tomato, oregano, and EVOO. I also made these sticky sandwhiches, which I will go heat up as son as I'm done with this post, from a recipe I got from one of Haiasi's friends. You pretty much just get some french rolls, insert lotsa ham and swiss cheese, stick it in a pan and drizzle this yummmmmy buttery sweet yet tangy mixture over all the sandwhiches, and then you bake them. They came out soo delish and the smell could be smelled on at least my floor and the stairwell. The last thing I made was yummy cupcakes from scratch. I found a recipe called pink lady cake. It had pureed strawberries in them. I think next time I'll kick it up a notch and add another ingrediant to make it sweeter. Note to self though, BUY A HAND MIXER.
I cleaned the apartment, Haiasi vaccuumed, and after me and Colin were slaving away in our kitchen, we set all the food down on my little Japanese tables and waited for people to arrive. A good chunk of people showed up (kinda wearing pink :P) with lots of other food (spring rolls, chicken, spanish salad, dessert, and uncooked rice :P) so we pretty much pigged out the entire night and drank to our heart's content. I had half a bottle of my moscato d'asti to myself and felt good after about 2 cups worth. It was soooo good :) And I didn't get raging drunk so YAY! for me.
We ended the night playing The Simpson's Clue, watching Ali G shows, and explaining how to play Left 4 Dead. It was a great belated birthday for me and I enjoyed a bunch :) Next time when everyone is actually 21 we shall go out to a nice place or go bowling :D
Ooooh, I also thought I gained a bunch of weight from Thanksgiving AND my birthday last night, but surprisingly I lost 3 lbs. during the holiday break and maintained it last night. I am so surprised, but enjoying the fact that maybe I am actually doing something right for once with my health. Hopefully that lasts throughout my time in Hawaii XD
Mata ne! I'll post pics once I get off Left 4 Dead :D

Left 4 Dead
I am addicted. I am coming clean and announcing it. I am addicted to playing Left 4 Dead. Damn you Haiasi-kun XD
I have been trying to manage final projects and playing L4D at night. This has been making me sleep at 4ish in the morning. If you aren't a huge gamer, this game is a zombie killing type of game. You play in a 4 person team and go around killing zombies. That's the simplest way to put it. it's freakin' awesome. I enjoyed it so much, I bought my own copy, installed Windows (this is huge since I hate PC's) and downloaded Steam so I could play it with friends. I am so consumed with it, it's insane. I may have to install it onto my mom's computer back at home just so I could play it smore :P
If you play L4D, add me on Steam and play a game with me! My username is ladycake.
